In 1974, the University of São Paulo (USP) received from Power Plants in the State of São Paulo (CESP) the donation of two remaining plots of land expropriation for the installation of Barra Bonita reservoir, for academic and scientific purposes.
Since then, under the administration of the Department of Forest Science (LCF) of the Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" (ESALQ), the Experimental Station of Forest Anhembi Sciences (EECFA) initiated a series of research, mainly aimed at introduction, conservation and breeding of exotic and native species, constituting an important germplasm bank.
Itatinga
In 1988, it was incorporated into the assets of the University of São Paulo (USP) of the remaining forest gardens of the former Ferrovia Paulista S / A (FEPASA). Since then, under the administration of the Department of Forest Science (LCF) of the Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" (ESALQ), this forest area was transformed into the Experimental Station of Forest Sciences of Itatinga (EECFI).
Since its founding, EECFI has been regularly used for academic and scientific practices of undergraduate and graduate ESALQ, contributing significantly to the educational programs, research and the University of São Paulo (USP).
